red dawn

the red dawn spreads
her fingers through the
sky with painful intentionā€¦
all that was, is lost
now to the fire that
lingers in her burning heart-
and while morning may
seem like fresh starts,
to dawn, the day is yet
made with the pain of
desires, un-flourished,
and silenced
only evidenced by the streaks
of red and yellow and pink that
paint her sky so solemnly

flying

hoping, wishing, waiting
for something new to catch
my fall into the nothingness
that has hold upon my heartā€¦
i linger now
edging further and further
beyond boundaries of black
and white
determined to find a way out
of this monochromatic life
and into a world of color-
butterflies and wildflowers
are in my mindā€™s eye
weaving tapestries of what can be
should I find releaseā€¦
my soul longs for wings upon which
to fly
and falconā€™s sight to lead this
heart from despairā€™s darkness
into light
falling now, i grip the edge of my
mind,
and with faith spread my heart
into the arms of eternity

desire

desire warms as it grows up
through the body, climbing
as a vine, flowering as it
goes through the deep deep
darkness that lies at the depth
of soul
tingling skin, inside out, dances
as a willow in the wind
and the divine light
that lingers just at the head of the body
explodes as light merges with energy
and thousands of flowers
bloom in unison
within every cell of the soul

dawn’s suffering

the dark night troubles dawn
as she labors to bring
the sun to life;
even as song birds herald
her pains each morning
the weight of her task
tolls heavily upon her heartā€¦
depressed and lying upon
the altar of her own suffering,
dawnā€™s soul lingers exhaustedly
waiting for the light to return
and the day to startā€¦
how I feel for her each morn
as i too, battle the darkness
and emerge with sunā€™s sweet light
to another day and another fight

reunifiedāļø

ancient stars linger
in these eyes-
far reaching and dusty
clouds from this life
blind sight with
gray matter to confuse
day from night….
and though your heart
may dwell among
those lights,
and i can no longer
see you through
this dusky haze,
just knowing
youā€™re up there-
watching-
is enough for this soul
of mine to trust
that we will be
Reunified

rain

Nothingness hangs about
Dropping bits of uninspired
Thought from the sky,
Unenthusiastically
Bitter gray doldrums linger
Darkly
Preventing illumination
Keeping the heart from seeing
Into the divine; secrets that now
Linger just beyond heartā€™s view
Oh, sorry sorry day!
Thereā€™s nothing that can break
This underwhelming silence
That collects yet more gray rain
Waiting, wasting, withering away
Heartā€™s calls for help are stifled
By this vast nothingness
Oblivion

a higher road

lost to words trapped inside a flowing mind
thereā€™s no where to go with these feelings
but through
and though the length of time to surpass
this pain is mighty
how can the a flower flourish without sun
or rain?
oh, the road is merciless, and the time
dear, and ideas that linger on the edges
of unmoving lips
are as pregnant as silenceā€¦
this journey, though walked slow,
is but a trip towards stars
that are yet unknown
so feet move, one by one, towards
a destiny sought by a higher road

golden dawn

awoken is this tired heart,
by morningā€™s light and song-
choraliers of hope upon
branches singing
of loveā€™s sweet golden dawnā€¦
oh songbirds of my heart,
keep ringing,
until this old soul sings along!
as sunshine flows,
my heart is brimming,
with memories of melodies,
lost to time and goneā€¦

this void

this broken receiver
dangling upon the edges of my heart
delivers a cold silence
to my longing soul-
connectionā€™s gone dead
leaving only emptinessā€¦
and though awakened my eyes
might see, they are blinded
by the nothing that lingers
upon this quiet line of
surviving
oh how i wish for electricity
to awaken my heart
with a bolt of divine energy
for the nothing that dwells now
within my own darkness
is a void that imprisons all passion
and desire

holy holy

Between the inhale and the exhale
Lies the holy holy
A silent elixir of eternity

Would that I linger in that quiet darkness
To find riddles answered
And my heart consumed

oh! but for a moment,
to reach such eternity
and breath as one with divine
